The City Council will here an appeal of the inadequate permit the city issued for the massive September 1 anti-war march that is planned for at the Republican National Convention. Following the press conference Coalition members will go to the City Council meeting were we expect to present our case. “The permit issued by the City May 15 does not allow for the massive anti-war march that we are organizing for September 1. People are coming from all over the country to protest the war on Iraq. Tens of thousands are expected to march on the Xcel Center. The permit issued by the city does not allow for that in practice” said Mick Kelly of the Coalition to March on the RNC and Stop the War. - 30 - |
